Nothing came easy for La Joya Coyotes Softball on Tuesday, as they fell 11-1 to Edinburg North
Edinburg North fired up the offense in the first inning, when #6 singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Edinburg North pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third #11 singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, #6 singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Edinburg North scored two runs on a stolen base, and Nallely Hernandez induced #14 to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
#9 pitched Edinburg North to victory. She went five innings, allowing one run on seven hits, striking out three and walking zero.
Hernandez took the loss for La Joya Coyotes Softball. She went four and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 runs on 11 hits and striking out five.
La Joya Coyotes Softball totaled seven hits in the game. Stefanie Solis and Jessica Reyna each managed multiple hits for La Joya Coyotes Softball. Reyna and Solis all had two hits to lead La Joya Coyotes Softball.
Edinburg North tallied 11 hits. #6, #9, and #11 all managed multiple hits for Edinburg North. #6 went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Edinburg North in hits.
